Projects - Mixed Use Developments

The design of mixed use schemes has become an increasingly large component of Todd Architects commission base over the past number of years. The combination of different building uses in close proximity reflects changing attitudes towards city planning and a new appreciation of urban and environmental issues, while also affording the opportunity to spread commercial risk.

The practice has developed proposals of varying size, which explore different arrangements of built form and with various combinations of building use. Recent projects include a landmark thirteen storey tower in Belfast,
‘The Boat’, which combines residential, office, retail and restaurant facilities
to a 145 room Park Inn hotel situated below a 3,000m2 of office space, also in central Belfast.

Other high profile developments combining residential, hotel and office uses are presently being designed in Bradford, Lisburn and Derry, while a number of smaller schemes are being developed involving differing mixes of uses.
