City Square House occupies one of the most prominent office locations in Leeds, overlooking the square that is the historic heart of the city.
Designed for developer MRP, the 140,000sqft headquarters office development, comprises a tall, 14 storey element overlooking the square and a lower, stepped section that ties into the streetscape of Wellington Street, that marks the boundary of the city’s Financial Quarter.
The trapezoidal form of the taller block sets up a dynamic in the architecture, with further visual interest created in the play between the contrasting glazed and stone finishes to the building’s principle facades.
The practice is being novated to contractor McAleer & Rushe, where the design team is working in close collaboration with the construction team, to ensure that design quality is reflected in build quality.
Heads of Terms have been signed with an occupier, allowing construction to commence 2021.
