Gary McConville Director

Gary joined TODD’s following the practice’s acquisition of McAlister Armstrong and Partners in 2013, where he had been director since 2000.

Gary brought with him extensive experience in two fields that were largely new to TODD’s – Aviation and Industry.

In the former his specialist knowledge of all aspects of airport design across the world, has been instrumental in the practice being retained to lead the expansion plans of a number of major regional airports across the UK and Ireland. These notably include Belfast International, Bristol International and most recently Leeds Bradford, where the practice has developed a sustainability focused design for a new £150m terminal.

In the industrial sector, Gary has successfully designed and delivered a wide range of building types, addressing quite varied client requirements from electricity interconnectors, to Energy from Waste plants and within the past few years he has developed a particular specialisation in distribution centres, for clients including Amazon and Primark.

Gary’s directorial responsibilities include the crucially important area of I.T. He has driven the practice’s move to adopt Revit software and the development of its BIM protocols, were TODD’s will be the first practice in the world to secure ISO 19650 – 2 BIM Certification for Businesses.
