Provident Financial Headquarters, Bradford

Provident Financial is a leading sub-prime lending company, originally established in Bradford in 1880, and now listed on the London Stock Exchange.

The company identified a need to move out of its dated premises in the city and the practice was successful, with developer McAleer & Rushe, in attracting them into a new mixed use development (that also included an hotel and 200 space multi-storey car park), located on Thornton Road, at the heart of the city centre.

The 150,000sqft building is arranged over 8 levels, with the uppermost floors set-back, creating terraces with views over the city.

The building is clad in York Stone, a material that predominates in the area, with a fully glazed frontage on its prominent corner at the junction off Thornton Road and Godwin Street.

The practice was also retained by Provident Financial, to complete the Cat B fit-out – which included a programme to hang its extensive art collection, with pieces that ranged from drawings by employees to paintings by Sir David Hockney!
