Holywood Arches, Community Treatment & Care Centre, Belfast

The Arches Centre was the first of three CCTCs delivered for the South & East Belfast Trust.

The centre comprises approximately 6,500sq m of primary care accommodation including GP accommodation, dentistry, podiatry and physiotherapy as well as providing shared accommodation for community nursing and visiting health professionals.

Appointed by South & East Belfast Trust, TODD worked closely with London based Architects Penoyre & Prasad to design and deliver the project.

The building is a mixture of new build and refurbishment of an existing facility which was stripped back to a structural frame. Delivered in two phases the existing facility was kept operational until the new section was completed.

It incorporates artwork throughout to enhance the visitor and patient experience and is arranged around a central atrium which includes the primary circulation areas and allows natural light deep into the building.

It received an RIBA design award upon completion.
