St Malachi’s Parish Centre, Hillsborough

St Malachi’s parish centre development provides a community facility in the centre of the historic village of Hillsborough, Co Down.

It is situated in the conservation area close to the Grade A listed church building. Careful design consideration was required in relation to the visual impact of the proposed development and thus close consultation with Planning Service and Environment & Heritage Service ensued.

The resultant facility nestles into a steeply sloping site to reduce its scale and is constructed of natural and indigenous materials including whinstone, slate, timber and wet dash.
